Sweat vs. The Snooze Button

What’s cookin’ good lookin’s?! πŸ˜‰

So, I’m going to confess something else to you (as if those random seven things weren’t enough Colleen Overload for ya) I reset my alarm this morning instead of getting up and working out. I know, slap me on the wrist. Shake your head. But seriously – when my alarm went off at 5:00 my entire body was screaming “Oh HELL no!” So I didn’t think twice about giving myself an extra hour of shut-eye πŸ˜‰

That’s the problem with taking night classes. I get back around 10, and I’m still wound up from the day – whereas if I lived in a perfect world, I’d be winding down from the day and getting in bed at 10 PM. When I get back, my mind is still racing about counseling skills and strategies, I want to get my stuff organized for the morning, and I don’t actually get into bed until 11:30 – which makes it very difficult for me to wake up at 5 AM and want to break a sweat. I think from now on I’m just going to designate Thursdays as an “off” day.

Let’s get on to the food, shall we?

Breakfast was PB&J oats, half a banana, a pinch of almond slivers and some Quaker Oats Oatmeal Squares. It never disappoints, ladies & gents πŸ˜‰

Lunch was a delicious veggie & brown rice bowl with a camera-shy apple πŸ™‚

I’ve got to get back to writing papers work! Enjoy your day, friends! πŸ˜€

Question for you – Do you ever choose sleep over working out? If so, do you beat yourself up about it?

I never work out in the morning…I just can’t convince myself to get out of bed! I’ve always worked out in the evening instead. Lately, though, my even schedule has been so hectic that I’ve been skipping a lot of workouts. It looks like I may have to embrace the morning workout sooner rather than later :-/

I love working out in the mornings! It kinda sets the mood for my whole day. And I really enjoy working out so it doesn’t bother me to wake up and just do it

I totally agree – I love working out and it does set the mood for the whole day! πŸ™‚ There are just some days where missing sleep would set the mood for the day as well πŸ˜‰

  3. I used to oversleep workouts all the time when I was a college kiddo – but now that I’m in the real world I’m always way too tired after work to get myself to the gym. I make myself put an alarm clock in the kitchen. It’s the only way you’ll get me outta bed!

yes, i sometimes sleep through a workout and then i feel terrible!
but obviously my body needed the sleep.
it’s just that my workouts are so ingrained in my schedule, i hate to miss them.
