Weekend Wrap Up

Hiya! Did you guys have a fun weekend? I sure did! ๐Ÿ™‚ Saturday was spent cashing in on a Groupon that Cory and I bought a few weeks ago, and today was spent on a adventure in DC.

Let’s start with Saturday’s events, shall we?

Cory and I spent a few hours over at National Harbor at theย Metropolitan Food, Libations & Luxury Home Show. Clearly, we don’t own a home – but we’ve got the food and libations part covered ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is the inside of the Gaylord. It’s seriously such a neat, beautiful hotel!

Tickets to get our draannk on ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is the first vendor that greeted us. Yes please!

The caramel pretzel bark was ahhhmazing.

Barbecue sause (served with non-pictured chicken sausage)

Oh my dear sweet Lord, I want a Vitamix SO badly. This guy said that he “saw my eyes light up” as we approached this station ๐Ÿ˜‰ Now if only I had several hundred dollars lying around..

I’m not a beer girl – but I tasted two that I actually really liked! Agave Wheat – has anyone tried this!?

We tried brownies, chips and salsas, chocolate-covered nuts, wines, and coffees. It was a blasty blast.

Today, we experienced the most epic let down of all time.

Jamie, Cory and I hopped on the metro this morning with BIG plans. We rode into the District to fulfill one mission that I’ve been wanting to do for so long – have The Cereal Bowl for lunch.

We were stumped when we got to the address but couldn’t find the place. 3820 is what we were looking for. We were standing in front of 3816. We scanned to 3818. I let out a huge “Are you KIDDING ME?!” When we got to 3820.

We attempted to reenact our tantrum.

Defeated, we went to Clyde’s for lunch. I ordered soup because it came in a bowl, like cereal.

It didn’t make me as happy as a cereal combo would have. But of course, this did make things a little bit better.

Frozen-Yo is a pretty tasty fro-yo place in DC. I was so upset about The Cereal Bowl that I ate way too much fro-y0 to in order to compensate (the hole in my heart, clearly). This was the first time ever that I left a fro-yo place feeling gross. It was delicious while it was happening, though.

Well friends, that’s the weekend in a nutshell! I’ve got to go grocery shopping before I can retire in my comfy pants for the evening. I’ll give you one guess as to what I’m planning on having for dinner…

Let me know – On a scale of 1 – 10 (10 being FANTASTIC), how would you rate your weekend? Mine? A solid 6.ย Saturday was great, and I loved seeing Jamie today – but all that excitement about The Cereal Bowl just to be let down was blah.

  1. Looks like so much fun!!

  2. Mine was a solid 8 I would say. I got off of campus which was fabulous and just what I needed.

I want to go to one of these froyo bars because I have yet to find one schmee. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  3. All the food looks so good! Sorry about your let-down ๐Ÿ˜ฆ At least you did tons of other fun stuff!

  4. What a fun weekend! I don’t know which looks better the frozen yogurt or the caramel pretzel.

I’d rate my weekend a 7 and a half. Good times with good friends.

  5. I would rate my weekend a 7. I felt kind of “off” (wonky!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ) but I also had some exciting times!

  6. But don’t you get it?!?! The Cereal Bowl being closed/open for lease means it’s time YOU opened up your own cereal bowl!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ll drive down for the opening.
Other than that, it looks like you had a great weekend full of fun events and great people :]
(and p.s. great minds think alike…both our posts are “weekend wrap-up” titled! lol)
    My weekend…5 or 6? And that’s being generous. It wasn’t bad…but…mreh. lol.

  7. Jamie says:

Thanks for spending the day with me…even if we didn’t get our cereal- still bitter! We look slightly excited in that picture…we have to work on our tantrum face.

  8. That always sucks when you’ve been waiting for something and then you can’t have it! Ah! I just found out that Uno’s closed by me – boo they had a lot of great veggie options too!

My weekend definitely a 10, and definitely much appreciated after a pretty lame week!

I realized that was super vague and lame – I consider my weekend to have started on Thursday, when I saw a friend from out of town. That night and Friday night were both spent hanging out with some wonderful people, and I don’t often get to do that, sadly.
Saturday I participated in a campus event celebrating the Indian holiday of Holi, and we got splattered in color and it was amazing, and we followed that up with frozen treats!
This morning I started a new tradition of breakfast and 11:30am mass with two of my favorite people.
      So yeah – a big whopping 10!

  10. Megan says:

Oh my gosh, how sad that the place was closed! I think that the fro-yo definitely makes up for it. I could eat fro-yo ALL day long. YUM!! I would say my weekend was a 4. Lots of working. Boo.

  11. Sounds like a tasty weekend! I’m glad you had fun at the Harbor! Even though I am a Baltimore native, there are always exciting and new things to see downtown! I love walking around the Harbor when the weather is nice…I am so over these freezing temperatures.

  12. Gina says:

Amazing food overload! Wish I had some of these eats in my weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Trisha says:

My weekend meant spring break was coming to an end. But it was still a good one!

  14. dressed2dish says:

Aside from the Cereal Bowl letdown, it looks like an amazing weekend with fro-yo & chocolate bark! ๐Ÿ™‚ Btw – your fro-yo’s always looks so good, ha how come mine never look like that!? One more thing to add to the list! ๐Ÿ™‚
