Birthday Weekend Wrap-Up

Birthdays are a big deal in my world. I am a huge birthday diva and insist on celebrating a birthday week. Yeah, it happens.

Cory is no such diva.

But because it’s hard to celebrate a birthday on a Monday – darn that work thing – we did most of the celebrating this weekend πŸ™‚

On Saturday morning, we ventured into DC and visited the Spy Museum!

Unfortunately, no pictures were allowed inside. Let me tell you, though – is a very huge, very cool museum.

We learned so much about spies!Β I’m considering dropping out of my counseling program and starting a career of espionage. How does Special Agent Lunchbox sound? πŸ˜‰

After the spy museum, we stopped by our favorite DC fro-yo shop!

Cheesecake fro-yo for lunch makes for two very happy campers πŸ˜€

We spent the afternoon lounging around before getting dressed up for birthday surprise #2 – dinner at Texas de Brazil! I don’t know about you, but I love getting a little dolled up and going out to dinner.

We tried our best to play around with the self-timer just for this little blog πŸ˜‰

We’re looking in to hiring a personal photographer πŸ˜‰ We just don’t have the self-timer skills.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Texas de Brazil, it’s literally a meat fest. Men walk around with huge skewers of meat like this

(Taken with my phone, sorry for the poor quality!)

And just keep slicing you pieces until you say stop. I did not partake in the meat fest, as their “salad” bar is top notch. Salmon pieces, cheeses, breads, olives, pastas, veggies…

I mean, how many salad bars have you seen that look like this?

I made two trips during Cory’s meat extravaganza. While I didn’t take the meat-route, I did eat an alarming amount of cheese and bread. I really think the restaurant should invest in stretchers to roll people out of there. We were stuffed!

Now it’s back to reality for the next 8 hours before I head over to Cory’s for more birthday celebrations – his parents are coming to town!

Happy, happy birthday, Cory! I hope 25 is the best year yet!Β

Let’s chat – When’s YOUR birthday? Mine is October 5th!Β
