Hello, hello! Happy Friday, friends 🙂 It’s a pretty gloomy day here, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s the weekend – so I’ll take it!
I’m surprised that I even remembered what to do when I got to the gym this morning. It feels like it’s been 10 years since I’ve been. I did this strength circuit and spent a very sweaty 25 minutes running on the treadmill. I’ve read that if you do intervals, you don’t have to stay on
that wretched machine the treadmill as long compared to a one-speed run.
If that’s not true, please don’t correct me.
Two very scary things happened this morning in regards to my favorite meal. #1 – I had no milk or cereal in my possession. #2 – Giant was out of Quaker Oatmeal Squares. I went ape shit and knocked cereal boxes off the wall in hopes that one solitary Quaker Oats box was hiding amongst the granola and Kashi – but no such luck.
I had to resort to Puffins.
Don’t get me wrong. Puffins were my jam during my freshman year of college. But I think I ate them one-too-many times, if you knowwaddaImean. Now I just smell my old dorm when I eat them.
Stranger things have happened, friends.
The only thing that helped mend my broken heart was the fact that Foods Alive sent me some fantastic products to try out – chia seeds being one of them. They made an appearance in my poor-man’s cereal combo and really stole the show.
They sent me some of their flax crackers and raw peanuts as well!
I opened the Maple Cinnamon crackers as soon as I got my paws on them, and they were delicious. The peanuts were unlike any peanuts I’ve ever tasted – maybe because I’ve never had raw peanuts? I’d be lying if I said I like my peanuts sans salt, but these were good and healthy-tasting. I think I’ll be making them into peanut butter soon! 🙂
Alrighty, friends! I am now getting into research mode to find cute and exciting wedding reception decoration ideas. If you have any, send ’em my way! Have a great Friday! I’ll catch ya later 😉
Let’s chat – What flavor cracker sounds better to you – Maple Cinnamon or Mexican Fiesta?
Hi there! Friends, I seriously cannot get over this beautiful weather. I am silly to think that Spring could be here for real?!
We even ate outside!! I could feel the warmth of the sun on my back and it was heavenly.
I love Cory because we’re normally on the same page. On our way out of Richmond he asked “Do you want Sweet Frog one more time?” YES PLEASE! 🙂
Fro-yo two days in a row? Sounds good to me! Can you guess which one is mine? 😉
Since this upcoming week is my spring break, Cory and I are planning on eating dinner together most nights, which made this weekend’s grocery trip exciting.
We are trying to practice our “meal planning.” Once we get married and move in together (!!!) we’re going to have to buckle down and make a meal plan for the week in order to make our lives easier and cut down on our grocery budget. If we have our meals planned out ahead of time, we’ll be less likely to buy random groceries we don’t need. Does anyone else do this now?
Well, I think the rest of the night is going to be spent relaxing. The premier of Sister Wives is on tonight, and I want to see it.
Have you seen this show?! Does anyone else think that the husband is the creepiest man ever? The whole thing just boggles my mind.
I hope you’re having a relaxing Sunday!
Let’s chat – Did you enjoy this weekend’s beautiful weather? Do you plan out your meals for the week before going grocery shopping? How do you relax on Sundays? Have you seen Sister Wives – what’s your take on the whole thing?
I’m so weird. I will do just about anything to distract myself from beginning my readings for class. After the 5K I came home with every intention to start reading. Oh, but my bags needed to be unpacked. Yes, it was necessary to fold my laundry right then. Of course I had to go to the grocery store – I can’t starve! 😉
I know I’m playing these games with myself, but that doesn’t seem to matter. So after I went to the grocery store (and picked up some out-of-the-ordinary items) I came home and got down to business. After reading about psychological assessments for the past 90 minutes, I awarded myself with a blog break 🙂
Last time I posted pictures from my trip to the grocery store, I got a positive response 🙂 So here’s what I nabbed at Giant this afternoon
It wasn’t a huge trip, but this will certainly hold me over for a while 😉
I’m really excited about the new Chobani flavors and I’m excited to try Kashi’s GoLean Crisp! Courtney’s given them rave reviews, so when I saw them today, I had to pick them up.
I’m also really pumped about this purchase as well
Nutella!! Oh my goodness, this stuff is so tasty. I ate it multiple times a day while in Europe this summer. I couldn’t believe I’d never had it before. I’ve become more aware that Nutella has a cult-like following -has anyone else noticed that? I’m not there yet, but it sure is yummy 🙂
I don’t have a stove or an oven in my on-campus living arrangement – so it’s a little difficult to get creative with meals. But I truly am trying. I can’t tell you how tempting it is to eat cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I kid, I kid 😉 Sort of.
It looks like my self-appointed “break” is almost up. Back to the school work I go 🙂 I love learning about counseling, but nothing seems to put me to sleep like a good ol’ counseling textbook.
Question for the afternoon – How to do you stay focused on daunting tasks?
